Off to Peru

We are getting ready to leave for Peru tomorrow.
Mom is so organized.
Now what you have been holding your breath for: the results of the Rex Lee Run. Mom came in in 34:19 for second place in her age group; I was first in mine at 46:07 for the 10k. Kirk ran just under 29 minutes, and Zeb ran just under 28 minutes. You should be able to take them down upon your return. Zeb really hurt his knee during the race and he is hobbling around today. This is when a girlfriend would come in real handy for some sympathy, as he gets none from me.
Race day was beautiful with perfect temperature and no wind. Later in the day it turned windy and we had a tinge of snow overnight.
Saturday night found us at the temple with Aly and John. I think that the wedding plans are blasting full speed ahead. Mom and I were the witness couple in our session. John and Aly messed up and missed our session by about a minute. Mom and I had an hour wait in the celestial room for them to finally show up.
The NCAA basketball tournament is in full swing. The final four will be LSU, UCLA, George Mason out of the Patriot League, and the winner of the Villanova/Florida matchup. So many of the games have been close.
We saw an Elder Jolly at the MTC. He said that he knew you. One of the skater friends. I cannot remember where he is off to.
We have everything ready for Peru. I've heard that they speak Spanish there. It is hard to believe that we will be seeing Kara late tommorrow night. The mission is letting her pick us up at the airport at 11:30 at night. Mom and I will become her companions on Tuesday. I hope she can stand us. We will be visiting all the tourist places in Peru.
Marek and Aubreyare at Lake Meade this weekend. I hope that the wakeboarding was good, but I am afraid that it was windy. I know that they were going to have to wear their wetsuits.
Well enough about us. It's time for me to take out the trash and finish packing. Hasta la vista baby (Arnold Schwartznegger). Love and Kisses, DAD

We love you, Elder. Love and kisses from mom adn dad.
Wow, the big transfer. Is the country big enough for transfers?
So the country is in mourning after losing the baseball world competition. Maybe it will humble them enough to listen to the gospel.
How about faith is first base, repentance is second base, baptism is third base, and the gift of the Holy Ghost is home plate.
We will be running the Rex Lee run on Saturday. Surprise: Mom, Kirk, and Zeb are also going to run. They are in the 5k. Results as soon as the race is over.
Wow, the picture of Aly and John is spectacular. Your sister is definitely good-looking. Your companions can eat their hearts out.
Love and Kisses, DAD

Wow! Who is that lucky guy in the picture with the BEAUTIFUL fiancee?

Here is a sneak preview of our engagement photo! Isn't Aly beautiful! Aly is well on her way to winning her first Nobel Prize. In recognition of her fine research, she was awarded a fellowship this past week. Beautiful and so smart... that is Aly!

Some days you just can't get rid of a dimension

Looking at this 3D picture of me with 3D glasses on while actually wearing 3D glasses made me realize something... Time for bed.

Nate the great

Hi Nate,

Hey, guess what. You know that cancer proposal that I told you about? I got funded! Hee hee. It is great. Willard has to run super fast in the Rex Lee run (the money from the run goes to my scholarship) so that they don't take it away. Oh yeah, they weren't going to give it to me and then I said, "but, but, I have a brother on a mission in the Dominican Republic." They said I could have it then. Good job. Keep it up.

Your pal,
Al

Wow. Is that island big enough that you have to get transferred? How's the baseball?
We have been working with the missionaries at the MTC. We will be heading for Peru in 8 days. Mom has worked really hard on the itinerary. We will be visiting some very famous places. Pictures in about 2 weeks.
We had notice from the IRS that you made $14000 in Ft. Worth in 2004. They want $ 27oo in back taxes. I did not know that you were so industrious, or so rich. We think it is some kind of mistake; however, it is possible that your personal information has been stolen and used by somebody. If you have any ideas, please let us know. We will call the IRS tomorrow (Monday) to see what we need to do.
I will be running the Rex Lee run on Saturday. I will be doing the 10k. Just like last year. I am thinking back to last year when you ran it in your skater shoes. Even Zeb won't do it with me. Two lonely years until you will be back to do it with me. I can't wait.
It has been snowing here a lot. Not much skating because of the snow. It is just God's way of keeping the cement smooth and unused until you get back. Oh, and the cops here are really bored, with nobody to harrass until you come back. They have had to reduce the police force by 50%. They have taken to writing little old ladies speeding tickets.
Watch out. Mom and I will be speaking the Spanish in Peru, and we will probably return with the language mastered. My next letter to you may be completely in Spanish with English subtitles.
Heh, the VCR is broken. How much is a new one? Now I cannot watch Phantom all the time. It is very sad. I may be forced to watch American Idol.
Mom is not only working on Peru, she is also concentratin on Aly's wedding. We have many thing done and many things more to do.
Let us know if you meet anybody poor. Love and Kisses, DAD

Wow to pictures!

So you thought the pictures were sweet. We will be sending pictures from Peru soon. How much is two hundred pesos. Aly and John get over here and get your pciture taken pronto.
We will be speaking in Sacrament meeting on Sundand break his leg.ay. Report to follow.
We are trying to help Aubrey with her swimming so that she can do the triathlon wiht us. Aren't you grateful for all the time that you spent at swim team? (Thanks dad)
I thought that you know karate or ju-jitsu, or something. To pull out their heat, thrust your hand through their diaphram, move your hand up under the ribs, grab the bottom of the heat, and tear it off. The mugger will die in about four minutes. He will lose consciousness way before that however. Or kick them with the bottom of your foot just below the knee and break his leg. Running works too, if you are fast.
Love and Kisses,
DAD

Photo Request

I know everyone is thinking it, so I will say it. Please take some photos of Aly with the new camera and post them. I think having photos of the most beautiful woman ever on this blog will encourage people to visit it more often and post more too (good for everyone).

xander's b-day and dad's new camera

Here we have Xander's birthday. He was 2. Please notice that mom and I are not getting any older. We thought that you might also enjoy seeing Kirk, Shayna, and Ender. Zeb is in there somewhere too.
We are so excited that you are such a great missionary. I think that the people in the DR are really being helped by you. Write us about any skateboarding adventures. (Sharing the gospel through skateboarding.)
